Roluos Group |

The Roluos group dates back to the 9th century and is located about 13kms east of Siemreap. The three temples, Prasat Bakong which is the main temple of the Roluos group, Prasat Preah Ko and Prasat Ak Yum have similar architectural characteristics, decorations and construction methods.

Located 20kms north of Angkor, this exquisite little jewel of a temple was built by Yajna-varaha, an official of Rajendravarman (944-968) and Brahmanist guru of Jayavarman V (968-1000). Every square inch of Banteay Srey is covered in carvings of the very finest detail and artistry. The road to Banteay Srey
passes though wonderful scenery, making the journey a pleasure in itself. Banteay Srey, built in the 10th century, is fashioned from a pinkish sandstone instead of the instead of the normal grey laterite of other temples.

Kbal Spean is commonly known as the Valley of a 1000 Lingas and is set deep in the jungle 12km from Banteay Srey. A 45 minute walk takes you to the river and waterfall where innumerable stone phalluses are carved on the riverbed. These were fertility symbol designed to bless the waters. This Hindu Pilgrimage site is the most ancient site the region.

It is located at the foot of the mountain. Along the stream of Siem Reap, there are a lot of figures of Yoni and Linga spreading out at its bottom.

| Boat Tours of the Tonlé Sap |

The Tonlé Sap, the “Great Lake”, is 30 minutes south of Siem Reap and one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world. It is the home of many bird species, wildlife and has a number of fishing village communities literally floating on it.

This is a large complex set up to showcase Cambodian culture, history, architecture and lifestyle. There is a wax museum with scenes and figures from history and 1/20th scale models of sites such as Phsar Thmei, the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and the temples of Oudong.
Also on display are full scale models of different styles of huts
and homes, hill tribe houses,pagodas and
mosques. There are live shows, traditional dance performances and
music.

Markets and other attractions |

Phsar Chas
or old market one of the most famous market for tourists. This market is filled with souvenirs, handicrafts, house hold items and clothes.

A tour to the silk farm will give you an idea how silk worms are reared and silk is produced. Their retail shop sell some of the finest silk in this region.
