Bunlung Town is where you will stay. The guest houses are clean and provides a picturesque view of the lake or the forest.  A boat ride on the Sre San river will take you to the hill tribes and gem mines. The warm hill tribes long to share their broad smiles and hospitality . You can buy their home made products like baskets, crossbows, bracelets,necklaces and clothes. There are many souvenir shops selling jewelries, gemstones and wooden carvings.

 On the way to Rattanakiri we detour to a Kratie and Stung Treng Province to see the famous Irrawaddy dolphins.

  Yeak Loam Lake

It is a crater lake, and was formed by a volcanic eruption almost 4,000 years ago. It is one of the most beautiful lake in Ratanakiri. It is 50m deep and 800m in diameter with a 2.5km path around the lake. This place gives you a feeling of paradise

 
  Eisey Patamak - Mountain Reclining Buddha

At the top of the mountain is a statue of a reclining Buddha. This has remained undisturbed through the years. From this place you can see Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, and the beauty of the surrounding countryside

 
  Virachay National Park

Virachay national park is 45km north of Banlung, and has a total land area of 332,500 hectares. It has many varieties of plants , different species of animals and birds.

 
  Lumphat Wildlife sanctuary

This 250,000 hectares of wild life santuary is 37km south of Banlung. It has many unique animals and birds as well as tigers, elephants and redheaded vultures.

 
  Kachang Waterfall

Kachang Waterfall is situated 6km northwest of Banlung. This waterfall is 12m and flows through the year.

 
 Katieng Waterfall

Katieng Waterfall is 7km northwest of Banlung. The height is 10m and the falls flow throughout the year.

Kratie and Stung Treng Province

 Irrawaddy Dolphins on the Mekong river
Dolphins

The Mekong river stretch between Kratie and Strung Treng Province is a home to the Irrawaddy dolphins or the flat nose dolphins. These fresh water dolphins are amongst the endangered species. A boat ride on the Mekong river will take us closer to these dolphins and the sight is overwhelming. Apart from seeing the dolphins you can watch the sunset on the shimmering river.
